The Canyon of Gorropu starts in Urzulei, a small village in the heart of the Supramonte and one of Sardinia’s most beloved destinations for trekking and outdoor adventure.

This is a top-to-bottom canyoning route through one of Europe’s deepest and most dramatic gorges. Before you set off, your guide will kit you out with everything you need: climbing helmet, harness, and all technical gear.

From there, the descent begins. Your certified guides will lead you through a series of obstacles using fixed ropes, steel cables, and abseil stations, threading a path between towering limestone walls and down along the course of the Rio Flumineddu. Every turn reveals something new — raw rock, rushing water, and silence so deep it feels alive.

And there’s a surprise waiting underground. If you’re up for it, we’ll hand you a wetsuit and take you to a stunning hidden underground lake tucked inside the canyon. Dive in, float around, and take a moment to realise where you are.
